In the middle of winter, I received a call from Canada to say that I had been recommended by award-winning Norfolk based wedding videographer Mike Savory to do Leslie’s wedding hair and makeup.

I jumped at the chance to do a wedding in a stunning Norfolk location and the chance to work alongside some of the industries best talent. With Tim Stephenson selected as the photographer, I knew instantly that this would be a good one.

Bridal Hair And Makeup In A Beautiful Norfolk Setting

When I heard how these two beautiful people had met whilst living at opposite ends of the globe, Canada and Australia, it made complete sense that they chose somewhere entirely accessible for their family to travel to.

While it’s always lovely to work on styled shoots, or red carpet events there is something so very special about getting to work with couples on their wedding day, especially when they have an amazing story to tell!

Leslie and I managed to squeeze in a very last minute trial at a hotel in London on a Sunday morning with her fresh off the plane from Canada and having managed only a couple of hours sleep. Still, it was enough for us to form a good plan of how to bring the bridal look of her dreams to life.

The next time we met was a few days later on a glorious summers day in Norfolk at the stunning Hockwold Hall. With 27 degrees forecast, it was going to be a warm day and lots of makeup and hair tricks would be needed to preserve her look in such heat.

Our bridal makeup look consisted of glowing skin with a smokey rose gold eye and a subtle lash. For our bridal hair we decided to leave it down in big bouncy soft waves as Leslie’s long blonde locks are such a strong feature of hers that we wanted to emphasise it.
